Triode Gallery, specialized in contemporary American design in Paris, is pleased to announce that is now working with Apparatus, the New York based design studio founded in 2010 by Gabriel Hendifar and Jeremy Anderson. In early 2016 an exclusive selection of their work will be on view in the Paris gallery. Born from playful experimentation with vintage lighting components, the studio now includes a staff of 25 people and a range of hand crafted products that includes lighting, furniture, and objects. Aged brass, etched glass, leather, and porcelain, are combined to create lighting fixtures that fuse sculptural form with hand-worn materials. The result is a warm glow that is at once timeworn and thoroughly modern. Each individual fixture is assembled by hand in the Apparatus studio. Raw brass components are meticulously finished to reveal layers of uncommon beauty. Molded and blown glass components are etched and painted to achieve the “perfect Imperfect.”

Jacques Barret has been a creative bridge between France and the USA for over ten years and therefore kicks off by inviting Bassam Fellows to Galerie Triode at 28 rue Jacob. The duo’s holistic lifestyle concept is revealed combining architectural minimalism and artisan philosophy. This includes the Tractor Stool (photo above) whose success is far from waning. The same goes for Rosi Li who trained at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her unique style blends mathematical precision with sensual environments. Peli-0011

The Pelican chair is celebrating its 75th anniversary! Since 1940, the small organic armchair has won the hearts of several generations of purchasers who prize its comfort and sensuality. Enticing and sculptural, the curved Pelican is one of those modernist icons that has joined the ranks of pieces capable of retaining their dynamic qualities throughout the century. Still comparing favourably today with the most prestigious and contemporary creators. A special edition covered with a fabric designed by the Danish artist Asger Jorn will be launched on this occasion at Triode, House of Finn Juhl Paris, and at Le Bon Marché in Paris. This spontaneous and joyful entanglement of motifs called Macbeth (1942) is most likely the sketch of a painting. This visual artist worked notably with Le Corbusier. He considered painting and writing as one and the same discipline devoted to producing symbols. Lire la suite…
