Pullman Tour Eiffel just opened with the second sample of Mathieu Lehanneur ’s “Business Playground” concept : reinvention of the meeting room as a perfect illustration of the “blurring” of private and professional life. This room reflects the brand’s “Work hard, Play hard” motto as well as its guests’ lifestyle. It combines performance and pleasure with a fresh take on the traditional aspects of a meeting: a meeting table designed like a poker table, a private area for informal conversations or breaks, and a cabinet of curiosities. All these features are designed to stimulate creativity and reinvent international hospitality codes. After its launch in Hong Kong last May, the new Lounge concept for Audemars Piguet goes to Miami for the famous contemporary art fair Art Basel from 4 to 7th december. The prestigious Swiss fine watchmaking brand called upon Mathieu Lehanneur to design its new presentation, demonstration and sales areas. The French designer literally scans the Joux Valley, the brand’s historical birthplace, to replicate its mineral DNA suspended in the air.

Audemars Piguet to unveil new lounge at Art Basel in Hong Kong 2014 from 14 – 18 May 2014 by leading French designer Mathieu Lehanneur, featuring a video installation about the brand’s origins by Austrian video artist Kurt Hentschläger. In its second year as a global Associate Partner of Art Basel, Audemars Piguet is delighted to today announce plans for a new lounge created by leading French designer Mathieu Lehanneur as well as a new piece by Austrian video artist Kurt Hentschläger inspired by Audemars Piguet’s home in Le Brassus in the Vallée de Joux.  The innovative design by Lehanneur will provide the setting for a reflective video piece by Hentschläger  and an exhibition of exceptional historic and contemporary timepieces, including a display of six new models of the Royal Oak Offshore in 42 mm. Ricard entrusted Mathieu Lehanneur with the role of redesigning its carafe and glass set to equip bars, restaurants and clubs.  The tasting ritual, a real institution, has been perfected by a complete revision of the codes and features by the French designer. the stem of the glass contains the correct measure of Ricard, an end therefore to incorrect measures. Then, the flared shape of the stem does not allow ice-cubes from entering, a small detail that prevents direct contact between the ice and the Ricard and therefore the formation of solidified anise essential oil flakes, that spoil the taste buds of purists! A design feature that satisfies lovers and also guides enthusiasts who have the tendency to put the ice-cubes in the glass first of all, making a precise measure impossible “With the Ricard teams we looked at reintroducing the preparation ritual to the very core of the tasting. I wanted to use the alchemy of the perfect measure but make it intuitive, obvious. The glass is primarily responsible for all that. As a result, whatever the order between ice-cubes and Ricard, you can be sure of having the right balance…
