Architect Simon Morville and Atelier JS.L are collaborating to address the programme to renovate part of the residential studios of the Ministry of Culture and Communication at the Cité Internationale des Arts, the largest artist residency in France, located on the Quais de Seine in Le Marais in Paris. The layout of these new studios combines everyday life and artistic activity to stimulate the residents thanks to decompartmentalising the functions.

Troyes Business School now has a new campus designed by SCAU agency including an “interior street”, providing the real backbone to the building. The classrooms are essentially functional, but this central area has been left empty by the architects to accommodate the hustle and bustle of student life. Energy can now be conserved through furniture. The first table in the Zero Energy Furniture range, designed by Raphaël Ménard and Jean-Sébastien Lagrange, enables almost 60% of an office’s heating requirements and 30% of its air-conditioning needs to be economised! In other words, this furniture acts like a thermal sponge: it absorbs excess heat (above 22 degrees), acting as air-conditioning, then restores the heat after this temporary overheating, therefore playing the role of heating.
