The construction of La Térmica, the latest mixed-use architectural project by Leclercq Associés will be completed in Malaga in 2022. Built upon the old industrial site located between the delta, the airport and the city, the development will combine shops for retail, a hotel, different types of residential accommodation, office spaces as well as a museum. Integrating work, home, shopping and cultural life in one central hub ideally situated between nature, the main city, the sea and transport networks. Spanning a total of 11600 m2, the development has been imagined from three viewpoints, describes François Leclercq. “As seen from the sea, the project resembles a hilly landscape in reference to its existing environment. As seen from the sky, a delta crosses these hills and opens the city to the sea. From the ground, a large canopy shelters the diversity of commercial activities, programming and residential styles.” (more…)

Arboretum

Arboretum is the most ambitious office real estate project since the construction of the business district of La Défense on the western city limits of Paris in the 1970s. Financed by BNP Paribas Real Estate and Woodeum, imagined by the architecture firms Leclercq Associés, nicolas laisné architectes and DREAM Dimitri Roussel, its construction will begin this September 2020. Located on the old industrial land of the Nanterre paper mill on the Parisian outskirts, Arboretum is a 9-hectare business site geared towards innovation. As François Leclercq explains, “The vertical tower model of business districts has currently become out-dated and must be reimagined. As such, Arboretum is the unique opportunity to invent a new format for the urban planning of workplaces. By its scale and location on the edge of one of the most beautiful parks on the banks of the Seine, it will be a piece of city where people will come to work. Horizontal, full of trees, providing indoor / outdoor workspaces, the site will be organized like a university campus, whose spatial qualities are today’s benchmark in terms of innovation, creativity and well-being “. Ora ïto signs his first yatch for global leader Perini Navi. It comes as a natural encounter between the French designer of fluidity and the Italian builder who has revolutionized the construction of superyachts since 1983, increasing the living space on board while reducing the crew requirements. Innovation, minimalism and efficiency unite Ora ïto and Perini. Together they offer a new vision of the manufacturer’s iconic 56m flagship sailing yacht. “The starting point of our collaboration is the confrontation of my architectural and design approach with the philosophy of Perini Navi. I have always strived to reduce material and functions in favor of maximum efficiency. My drawing is very close to the constraints of a boat. On a 56m hull, living space becomes an obsession.” (more…)
