From June 11th Triode launches two new exhibitions devoted to the new faces of American design, including one off-site at KKDC/OBUMEX. Jacques Barret has been a creative bridge between France and the USA for over ten years and therefore kicks off by inviting Bassam Fellows to Galerie Triode at 28 rue Jacob. The duo’s holistic lifestyle concept is revealed combining architectural minimalism and artisan philosophy. This includes the Tractor Stool (photo above) whose success is far from waning. The same goes for Rosi Li who trained at the Rhode Island School of Design. She has just founded her own studio to develop lights and bespoke objects that she self-produces or designs for companies like Roll & Hill. Her unique style blends mathematical precision with sensual environments. Off-site, the KKDC/OBUMEX showroom at 20, passage Dauphine accommodates the rest of the Triode selection with the young manufacturer Rich Brilliant Willing established in 2007 To be expected as the two brands share the same love of LEDs and contemporary lighting. Rich Brilliant Willing will unveil a large panel from its elegant and equally technical range. The preview of these two parallel and neighbouring exhibitions will take place on Thursday 11th June from 7pm.  Lire la suite…

Celebrated designer Eugeni Quitllet discusses his most recent works and design brand collaborations, Wednesday, May 13, 12 pm, at Miami Ironside, the trendy art and design district in Miami’s Upper Eastside. The talk is part of the fringe festivities celebrating MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS in its inaugural year, May 12-15. The Catalan designer will give the lowdown on his equally dynamic feats, with two new enchanting seats for Kartell, a new collection of office items for Lexon and further collections launched with Alias and VONDOM. His brand new tubular chair for the Spanish brand Mobles 114 will also be unveiled for the very first time. Danish brand Lyngby just unveiled new glass version of its iconic vase and bonbonniere together with a table lamp by Gijs Bakker and a can by Plueer & Smitt. The Lyngby vase has become one of the most iconic designs from Lyngby Porcelain. Over the past 20 years flea markets have been swiped clean of the original examples and the new productions have been extremely popular. Czech glassblower factory Brokis presented its latest projects for the first time at Euroluce last week in Milan.  LightLine (photo above), a new table lamps collection by Lucie Koldova celebrates the material of glass in every component. Flutes is a suspension light with great variability and style for hotel spaces, restaurants and offices also designed by Lucie Koldova. Mona exists now in a wall version and most popular Brokis lights finds new material and colors this year.
