Celebrated designer Eugeni Quitllet discusses his most recent works and design brand collaborations, Wednesday, May 13, 12 pm, at Miami Ironside, the trendy art and design district in Miami’s Upper Eastside. The talk is part of the fringe festivities celebrating MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS in its inaugural year, May 12-15. The Catalan designer will give the lowdown on his equally dynamic feats, with two new enchanting seats for Kartell, a new collection of office items for Lexon and further collections launched with Alias and VONDOM. His brand new tubular chair for the Spanish brand Mobles 114 will also be unveiled for the very first time. Danish brand Lyngby just unveiled new glass version of its iconic vase and bonbonniere together with a table lamp by Gijs Bakker and a can by Plueer & Smitt. The Lyngby vase has become one of the most iconic designs from Lyngby Porcelain. Over the past 20 years flea markets have been swiped clean of the original examples and the new productions have been extremely popular. Czech glassblower factory Brokis presented its latest projects for the first time at Euroluce last week in Milan.  LightLine (photo above), a new table lamps collection by Lucie Koldova celebrates the material of glass in every component. Flutes is a suspension light with great variability and style for hotel spaces, restaurants and offices also designed by Lucie Koldova. The Pelican chair is celebrating its 75th anniversary! Since 1940, the small organic armchair has won the hearts of several generations of purchasers who prize its comfort and sensuality. Enticing and sculptural, the curved Pelican is one of those modernist icons that has joined the ranks of pieces capable of retaining their dynamic qualities throughout the century. Still comparing favourably today with the most prestigious and contemporary creators. A special edition covered with a fabric designed by the Danish artist Asger Jorn will be launched on this occasion at Triode, House of Finn Juhl Paris, and at Le Bon Marché in Paris. This spontaneous and joyful entanglement of motifs called Macbeth (1942) is most likely the sketch of a painting. This visual artist worked notably with Le Corbusier.
