Jean-Pierre Raynaud is the fifth artist to be invited by the MAMO (Marseille Modulor) after Xavier Veilhan, Daniel Buren, Dan Graham and Felice Varini. The fifth singular point of view given to the Cité Radieuse of Le Corbusier, its terrace and gymnasium having been redeveloped by Ora Ito into an art centre. « With the support of Longchamp, the MAMO continues its annual exhibitions, inviting world-renowned artists, able to master imposing spaces and to measure themselves to this unique and extra-ordinary place. New place for art and design, Atelier Relief invited Mathias Kiss, David Brognon & Stéphanie Rollin and Ionna Vautrin (Tryptich mirror above) to share their vison of relief at the occasion of Art Brussels last week. Founded in Brussels by Farid Issa and Thomas Erber in 2015, Atelier Relief is a triple space, a place for creating, producing and exhibiting, where reliefs, sculptural variations of an image are conceived and produced. Images and volumes are per- manently moving back and forth at the Atelier. The image stops being a flat object, changes into a volume, a shaped space. The material diffracted into a volume, ins- talled on a wall, is presented like a painting. An innovative and unusual format that draws artists, photographers and designers in like a decisive breath.  Lire la suite…

Les Turbulences FRAC Centre - (C) Jakob + Ma cFarlane -Nicolas Borel_copyright free

“Augmenting the invisible” presents the first monographic exhibition of Jakob + MacFarlane in Germany. The multidisciplinary and multicultural architecture studio, founded by Dominique Jakob and Brendan MacFarlane in 1997, is one of the most experimental offices operating based in Paris, France. Projects like ‘Frac’ in Orleans, Restaurant ‘Georges’ at Centre Pompidou, ‘Orange Cube’ and ‘Euronews Headquarters’ in Lyon or ‘Conservatoire de Musique et de Dance’ in Noisy le Sec are results of their unique mode of architectonic form-making, in which the firm developed, through exploration of digital technology – both as conceptual tool and as means of production – a distinctive, individualistic signature that simultaneously redefines local context. The studio’s approach is a permanent attempt to reinterpret the context of a project. Each of their interventions witnesses an extreme interest and research for the site in order to develop a richer project response. Through this process a meaning, sense and resonance to the work is given and at the same time it creates an architecture that is open to a changing and evolving world. Their projects are resulting from their unique design-approach to reinterpret the projects context, its gridlines, topologies or physical streams and transfer them into digital form where it can be manipulated. Thus, this piece of tangible becomes part of the original matrix of the project.

Fundación Alumnos47 has decided to transform the architectural project by Didier Fiuza Faustino to a new form to make it evolve towards a more extense, movable, adaptable form with new possibilities. This decision is the consequence of the local administrative procedures, which considerably slow down the construction of the project. Lire la suite…
