On the occasion of the parisian launch of the collection of Haute Bijouterie designed by Pierre Hardy for Hermès, Didier Fiuza Faustino is invited to conceive the staging of these uniques pieces and to create the « Continuum ». until octobre 8th at Hermès 24 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré Paris (8ème). Didier Faustino and his Cosmogony installation. The cosmogony is the science of the creation of celestial objects and in the same time the part of the mythologies that tell the birth of the world and men. For his collaboration with Hermès and Pierre Hardy, Didier Fiuza Faustino chose to seize the theme of the new collection of « Haute Bijouterie » that was focused on the expression of time, to design the interior of the Boutique Hermès, with a futuristic atmosphere. With almost twelve boxes that contain the jewels laid out in a perfect circle, Faustino introduces a basic representation of the notion of time.

From 14th to 23rd October, NEMO presents the exhibition La Luce at the Biennale Interieur in Kortrijk. An amazing insight into Le Corbusier and Perriand’s archives to provide an understanding of their radical philosophy of light and the production process that has been fulfilled by NEMO for over 10 years. Sketches and photographs are presented along with prototypes of light fixtures that are now iconic: Potence Pivotante, Projecteur 165 and 365, Applique de Marseille, Lampe de Marseille, Escargot, Parliament, Borne Béton, Pivotante à poser and Applique à volet pivotant. For the 7th edition of AD Intérieurs, Ora Ito and Daniel Buren have joined forces to dazzle the Monnaie de Paris until 18th September. The two partners have arranged interplaying mirrors and taut lines to maximise their 20m2 exhibition area creating a monumental effect with minimal resources. This year the editors of AD magazine asked interior designers to establish a decor around collections of objects they care about. “Rather than a traditional cabinet of curiosities, they’re asked to arrange bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens or studies, with the idea of living surrounded by personal treasures.” Lire la suite…

In tandem with Felice Varini’s “À ciel ouvert” open-air installations opening at MAMO (until 2nd October), Le Corbusier’s architectural work was classified a UNESCO World Heritage site at the World Heritage Committee’s 40th session on July 17th in Istanbul. 17 sites spanning 7 countries have set themselves apart as “human creative genius.” “Selected from Le Corbusier’s body of work, they are testament to the invention of a new architectural expression that make a break with the past,” stipulates UNESCO. Charlotte Biltgen has created the bespoke interior design for Maison Première, a brand new restaurant in the Ebisu district of Tokyo, an up-and-coming residential area popular with bobos (bourgeois bohemians). A large three-story house on a hill provides both a restaurant and a venue for events, exuding a certain French art de vivre thanks to the French chef Armand Arnal in the kitchens and a decor encompassing the conviviality of Parisian bistros and Japanese finesse. Following in the footsteps of Xavier Veilhan, Daniel Buren and Dan Graham, Felice Varini goes face-to-face with Le Corbusier’s architecture at MAMO, the art centre created by Ora Ito on the roof terrace of Cité Radieuse in Marseille (France) from 2nd July to 2nd October. The French-Swiss artist living in Paris finds himself in a unique situation, “This is the first time that I have exhibited on, in and with architecture designed by Le Corbusier. This place is a landmark, a huge influence. It is a true microcosm, designed as a small city with its range of complex volumes, a small city with a view over the large city of Marseille.
