Naziha Mestaoui is a Belgian-Tunisian artist and architect based in Paris who merges space, image and the innovations of the digital world, to create immersive and sensory experiences. In 2000 she founded «Electronic Shadow» with Yacine Aït Kaci, director, inventing a new crossdisciplinary and converging career for themselves, with an artistic territory that is both a laboratory and a nonstop generator of new possibilities. Theymove from one new venture to the next at a breathtaking pace: electronic art, architectural projects, innovations and even live performances, all of which bear the imprint of their inimitable approach and style. By merging space, images and the innovations of the digital world, they have created a new hybrid discipline in tune with a modern world bent on breaking down boundaries. The duo has marked its journey with numerous exhibitions across the globe; MOMA in New York, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Museum of Photography in Tokyo, the Contemporary Art Biennale in Sevilla, Sao Paulo’s SESI, Shanghai’s MOCA…. and in 2011, a large-scale solo exhibition at the Musée Granet in Aix en Provence, discovered by more than 35000 visitors.
For two years, a new field of research led Naziha to develop an artistic creation linking the most contemporary to ancestral cultures. Several travels into different tribes of the world gave birth to a new series of works at the crossroads of the most advanced technologies and traditional knowledge, questioning our own perception of reality, beyond the divorce between the intelligible and sensitive, she invites us to sense perception. The question nature is now the heart of the artistic and cultural issues.
